HULL FC PLAYER RATINGS AS YOUNGSTER GRABS OPPORTUNITY IN BREAKTHROUGH PERFORMANCE

Jack Walker - A brave effort from the full-back who scored a good try and never backed down. 7

Harvey Barron - The winger stood up well before leaving the field in the second half. He had a tweak to his hamstring and the club didn't want to risk it. 5

Darnell McIntosh - Drafted into the centre, McIntosh kicked a touchline conversion and did his bit in yardage. As always. 6

Liam Sutcliffe - The centre was taken high when held up over the line. He was also a threat throughout and found plenty of space on the left edge. 7

Lewis Martin - The winger finished well from the scrum play and never backed down. He was also busy in yardage and also managed an interception in the second half. 7

Tex Hoy - Had some bright moments with the ball, especially with his running game, but also came up with one or two coach-killing errors, like not making touch from a penalty. He stood up defensively. 6

Morgan Smith - The half-back was superb. He attacked the line well, kicked astutely, and also linked strongly with his fellow left edge. 8

Jack Ashworth - The big front rower led from the front. He’s had a good start to his Hull FC career. 8

Fa'amanu Brown - Back in his favoured hooker spot, and steered the Hull pack around before his sending off before half-time. It was incredibly harsh—an accidental clash of heads with Ben Currie. Not sure what he was supposed to do. 5

Jack Brown - The fiery prop gave a really strong account in the middle, standing up in defence and carrying well. 8

Jayden Okunbor - The back rower was involved, but he also made a couple of mistakes in contact. Passes to him perhaps questionable. Left the field in the second half. There’s definitely more to come. 4

Nick Staveley - The young back rower was excellent. He stood up defensively and was a powerful and physical threat on the edge. A coming-of-age display. 9

Jordan Lane - Starting at loose-forward, he made a couple of blunders, and defensively, he got caught out early on—see Danny Walker's try. However, effort was unquestionable throughout the whole side, and he stuck at it in what have been rough and tough circumstances over the first two rounds. 4

Will Gardiner - The prop played a fair stint either side of half-time in what were tough circumstances. 5

Davy Litten - Came onto the right centre and did little wrong. Scrambled hard late on. 5

Denive Balmforth - The young gun got through a lot of minutes after Brown’s send off. A good account. 6

Charlie Severs - Thrown into the action late on but was efficient. He’ll be delighted to be playing Super League again for the first time in 19 months. 5
