NEWCASTLE ARE HANDED A QUADRUPLE INJURY BOOST AHEAD OF MAN UNITED TIE

Newcastle have received a quadruple injury boost ahead of their game against Manchester United.

The Magpies visit Old Trafford on Sunday for a six-pointer in the race to finish in the top four.

There were fears manager Eddie Howe would be without several key stars for the game as their season threatens to de-rail.

But they have been dealt a major boost with four key players returning to training ahead of the game.

Nick Pope, Sven Botman, Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson have all returned to training and are expected to be involved in the game.

There were worries Pope had suffered a serious issue when he pulled out of the England squad over the international break, but the goalkeeper is set to be fine to start between the sticks on Sunday afternoon.

Botman, meanwhile, received his maiden call-up to the senior Netherlands squad, but returned back to his club during the break with illness.

Saint-Maximin appeared to suffer a hamstring injury against Nottingham Forest as the winger was withdrawn at half-time in the game at the City Ground, but he too has made a full recovery.

Wilson, meanwhile, though out of the team, is back in training after missing several sessions over the international break.

It's not all good news for Newcastle, however, with wingers Anthony Gordon and Miguel Almiron still out with an ankle issue and thigh problem respectively.

Newcastle would leapfrog Man United into third in the table if they were to come out of the game victorious.

Tottenham - who are without a manager and play Everton on Monday - would also be passed in the league.

United, meanwhile, have been handed their own injury boost, with Marcus Rashford returning to training after pulling out the England squad
