HARRY KANE: MAN UTD TARGET INFORMS TOTTENHAM OF FINAL DECISION AS LEVY DECIDES ON FEE AND PREFERRED BUYER

Harry Kane has told Tottenham he will not sign a new deal and wants to make a transfer away from the club this summer, according to strong reports emerging in Spain.

The England striker finds himself at a major career crossroads after a difficult season at Spurs. While some serious records fell on a personal level – Kane became all-time top scorer for both club and country this year – it wasn’t all sweetness and roses for Tottenham.

Indeed, the removal of Antonio Conte as manager sparked a dramatic downturn in form. The club let slip their place in the top four, ultimately finishing in a lowly eighth place.

And with no European football on the agenda, Tottenham are finding their quest to appoint a new manager rather harder than expected. However, the end could soon be in sight for Spurs with talks progressing over their new No 1 choice.

The big worry for the club, though, is that how the saga will impact their prospects of keeping Kane. His deal is due to expire in summer 2024 and talks over an extension have been shelved until the summer.

Previously it was expected that Kane would commit his future to the club and disappoint a host of suitors in the process.

However, now reports in the Spanish media claim the opposite true and Kane has informed Daniel Levy of his wish to leave. His decision is reportedly final and his mind cannot and will not be changed.

The Spurs chairman was reportedly informed of the verdict before the season ended. And now Levy is mulling over what best to do with his talismanic star amid a growing army of admirers.

Harry Kane next club: Levy names his price for striker

The striker has already been firmly linked with a move to Manchester United with Erik ten Hag seeking a new centre forward this summer.

However, it seems no money in the world will convince Levy to sell Kane to United. And while the Spurs supremo is willing to run the risk of losing Kane on a free next summer, it makes more sense from a business perspective to sell Kane now.

Per AS, Carlo Ancelotti and his Real Madrid coaching staff are now making a beeline to Kane’s signature.

Los Blancos are losing their most potent of goal threats in Karim Benzema this summer. After a staggering 14 seasons with the club and some 353 goals, the 35-year-old has decided to move on. A lucrative move to Saudi Arabia now awaits the former France striker.

To replace him, Ancelotti and Co are readying a huge approach to Tottenham for Kane.

And AS claims their initial enquiries to the Premier League side has seen an initial price already quoted.

They claim Levy has ‘already given Real Madrid the first figure’ to negotiate his sale. And per the report, that is set at a minimum €100m (£86.5m).

Real Madrid have Kane as top target; Chelsea star also in the mix

Real Madrid reportedly see that figure as too high given Kane’s current contract situation. But they are aware that Levy often drives a hard bargain so will be careful not to insult him by also going too low with an initial offer.

However, there is a feeling of positivity at the Bernabeu that a deal for Kane can be done. Furthermore, encouraged by Levy’s stance he wants to sell him overseas, there is hope that common ground can be reached.

Should Real fail to negotiate terms for Kane, they are reportedly chasing Chelsea’s Kai Havertz as their Plan B.

The German has scored just nine times in 47 appearances this season and is not exactly prolific. Indeed, he has a mere 32 goals from 139 appearances since signing for the Blues back in 2020.

In fairness, Havertz is more a second striker and was never intended to be a regular source of Chelsea goals.

Nonetheless, Real seemingly like what they see him and will reportedly look to take him off Chelsea’s hands if the price is right.
